05/26 10:12 p.m. Police were performing a seat belt emphasis on First Street when they spotted a driver without a seat belt on. Once they made contact with the driver, he claimed not to have his license on him. Police ran his name and discovered his license had been suspended. The driver was cited and released for driving while suspended in the second degree and the vehicle was towed.
05/27 7:57 a.m. A green sticker was found on the front entrance doors of Huston Hall. The sticker, which read "Students beware, EWU administrators condone bullying, harassment and discrimination," was removed from the door.
05/27 9:10 p.m. Police were performing a seat belt emphasis in downtown Cheney when they spotted a driver without a seat belt on. Once they made contact with the female driver, she claimed to not have her license with her. Once police ran her name they found her license had been suspended. The female was cited and released for driving while suspended in the second degree and her vehicle was picked up by a third party.
05/27 9:16 p.m. EWU Police assisted the Cheney Police Department with a domestic violence dispute in progress at an apartment complex between a male and female. The male was arrested for assault in the fourth degree and the female was arrested for assault in the fourth degree and obstructing a police officer.
05/27 10:57 p.m. A police officer parked in Gatto's Pizza spotted a vehicle weaving down the road, called a Cheney Police unit and performed a traffic stop. The driver appeared to be under the influence of alcohol as well as drugs. The driver was cited and released for DUI and taken to Deaconess Medical Center for a drug assessment.
05/28 10:31 p.m. An EWU Police officer was following a vehicle north on Cedar Street. The officer could apparently smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Eventually the officer performed a traffic stop after following the vehicle for three blocks. Once the officer made contact with the male driver, they found he had a green leafy substance on the front of his T-shirt and did not find any other marijuana. The driver was cited and released for possession of a controlled substance for less than 40 grams of marijuana.
05/29 11:36 a.m. A female student in the Eagle Shop was complaining of chest pains and claiming she was lightheaded. The female was transported by AMR to Holy Family Hospital.
05/30 2:01 a.m. An alarm in the plant utilities tunnel that runs underneath EWU's campus was set off. After a search of the tunnel, five subjects were found in the tunnel near JFK Library. They were apparently there because they heard it looked cool and wanted to check it out for themselves. All five students were referred to OSRR.
06/01 3:15 a.m. Several female students were engaged in a physical altercation outside of the entrance of Pearce Hall. The fight started over derogatory comments that were made and alcohol was said to be involved. Two of the participants, one whose left eye was swollen shut, were arrested for assault in the fourth degree. The remainder of the suspects fled, but they have been identified and an investigation is ongoing.
